Phone Tips:
The last four digits of any OFS Specialty Photonics Division phone number beginning with 678 also serve as the extension if you dial our toll free number (888) 438-9936.

Customer Relations is the first option on our menu — press 2.

Customer Support & How to Buy Our Products

• Customer Support »
Customer Relations is your first point of contact, where our representative can answer most questions. If you are an international caller, have technical questions, wish to be referred to a scientist at OFS Laboratories, or need additional assistance beyond what our highly-trained Customer Relations team can provide, you will be transferred or referred as quickly and efficiently as possible to the best contact to handle your inquiry.

Preferred method of contact:
  • Phone »
Dial 1-888-438-9936 from the USA or Canada
Dial 1-860-678-0371 from all other locations
Press 2 from our menu or ask for customer relations.

We will ask you for your corporate billing address and the industry you are in to direct you to the appropriate Customer Relations Representative.

• To Order Our Products »
Contact our Somerset location directly for Rare-Earth Doped Fibers or High-Power Products.

Contact our Denmark location directly for Dispersion Compensating Modules.

For all other products, please contact our Avon facility. Online ordering is not yet available; we accept Mastercard, Visa and American Express orders by telephone. Or if you wish, we may extend credit terms to you for larger or repeat orders. Please complete a New Customer Worksheet, and fax it to us at 1-860-674-8818.

• How Long Will it Take to Get my Order? »
What you order (and how much) determines the path your product/s will take through our factory and how long it will take to arrive at your dock. Following are some general guidelines that will give you an idea about timing until you get our Order Acknowledgement with an actual date.

Like Lightening
Certain catalog items (those with an assigned part number, published specification sheets, etc.) such as connectors, termination kits, and other hard goods, are kept in stock on the shelf ready to ship the next business day (2 days if you are a new customer and need to be set up in our system).

Standard Delivery Time Other catalog items-linear products, such as fiber and cable-are run to order and can take up to 3 or 4 weeks depending on the "recipe." We typically do not warehouse large quantities of these items. But if your order is a small one, we may have shorter lengths still available from recent longer runs, and those can be respooled to the length you require and shipped out to you within 5 business days.

A Little Longer
(for Custom Products). Custom solutions can take extra time-for us to procure raw materials we don't typically use or for us to ensure a new process works exactly right to meet your specifications. We'll do some homework up front (finding vendors, consulting our engineering process managers, etc.) and acknowledge your custom order within 5 business days. If you have previously asked for a quotation on this product, we will have already done some of this in advance, and you will enjoy quicker turnaround as a result when you actually place your order.

We always appreciate your patience and welcome your calls. If we encounter a situation that may delay either our acknowledgement or shipment of your order, we'll call or email you promptly. If anything changes on your end—you need a different shipping date or delivery address, your requirements change, anything at all—please call us, also.

Our goal is to get you exactly the product you want, when you want it, and exceed your expectation wherever possible. If you think of a way we can better meet that goal for you, please let us know.

Avioptics
Avioptics harsh environment cable optimizes high-performance aircraft and military vehicle applications. The cable design is based on 200 µm fibers and adds coating and strength members especially for the corrosive environments encountered on aircraft, including jet fuel, oil. Solvents, and hydrolytic liquids.
FlightGuide
The FlightGuide family of aerospace fibers and cables offers high temperature and strength in graded-index fiber-based constructions. Multiple coating and cabling layers specialize the cables for military and aerospace use. Some FlightGuide fibers are available sold separately.
HCS
Hard Clad Silica (HCS) was invented by OFS scientists and now serves as the industry standard cladding material for optical glass fibers. HCS cladding imparts unusual strength to fiber and makes it easy to crimp and cleave connectors directly to the fiber using a hand tool in the field instead of more complex epoxy/polish methods.
OASiX
Optical Amplifier Simulation Software from OFS, OASiX is packaged with erbium-doped fibers sold for use in EDFAs. This software and graphical interface allows the designer to plug in modeling parameters shipped with the fiber and begin on-screen simulations. This reduces design time by predicting the performance of EDFA systems including optical components such as filters, isolators, and reflectors.
ST
This connector type features a bayonet-style nut and is commonly used in telecommunications applications.
TruePhase
TruePhase is the name to remember for all of OFS’s non-doped polarization maintaining fibers. These are single mode fibers optimized for different wavelengths and cladding size requirements.
V-System
This easy-to-use connectorization system simply plugs in with a reassuring click. It is available for simplex cables, or with a duplex latch housing for connectorizing zipcord. Connectorizing HCS coated fibers with V-System connectors takes less than 2 minutes per end when using the compatible OFS crimp and cleave kit.
ClearLite
One of the most complete, diverse lines of single-mode optical fiber you can find, ClearLite encompasses several families of photonic fibers, each optimized for different applications: 980, 1310 & 1550, Micro, Specialty Coated, Short Wavelength, and Polarization-Maintaining.
GyroSil
Designed specifically for gyroscopes and similar navigational instrumentation, GyroSil singlemode fiber has a small NA of 0.17 and reduced 80 µm cladding diameter to accommodate the tight bend radii and coiling designs inherent in gyroscopic and sensor applications.
PYROCOAT
PYROCOAT polyimide is our premier fiber coating for high-temperature applications. In recent years, we have further refined the polyimide properties to create new versions of PYROCOAT optimized for steam or chemical resistance. When applied over a hermetic carbon layer, it provides the best protection in the industry against the harshest environments.
UltraSil
Known in the medical industry for years for its ultra low water peak useful for high-power delivery, our UltraSil fibers are made from unique preforms that deliver both low OH and one of the highest NAs achievable with a silica cladding. These fibers are also finding new application in sensing when further coated with high-temperature polyimide.
