Welcome to FiberWire, a newsletter designed to keep you informed about new developments in specialty optical fiber. Our mission is to provide you with focused fiber solutions. We are continuously investing to learn how to help you solve new problems for your customers so you can grow your business. We hope FiberWire will help provide solutions. Along with saying thank you for your business, I would also pose a question: Would you recommend us to someone as a supplier?

We are working hard every day to try and make "Yes" the answer to that question. As the leading developer and manufacturer of specialty optical fiber based solutions, the whole process starts with trying to understand our customers’ expectations. That communication between our customers engineering teams and our sales, marketing and technical staff is the first step in achieving a "Yes" answer.

We are working to improve that communication. We then try and meet those expectations supported by the extensive optical fiber, cable and connector technology and manufacturing base we have developed over 50 years from our Bell Laboratories roots. We’ve begun applying the tools required to achieve operational excellence in our factories, supported by the manufacturing power of our parent, Furukawa Electric a long time supplier to NTT and Toyota. Meet the Customer Service Team

The very nature of our business - unique applications that require customized solutions – necessitates a special dedication to customer service. "Partnering with OFS is more than delivering a great product," says OFS Specialty Photonics Division Sales Manager John Earnhardt. "It’s essential that we understand our customers – and their customers. Our goal is to help our customers compete."

Customer service requests fall into two general categories: technical and product. OFS has assembled a team to assist customers. The Customer Service Group includes Technical Sales Engineers and Customer Relations Representatives. Account Executives also play an important role in customer service by delivering expertise in the field. In addition, OFS has in-house experts to guide customers through complex export compliance issues.

The customer service team stands ready to help in many ways. "Customers require us to be highly flexible, so we work closely with them all the way through the process. Personalized service is very important to us – and to our customers," says Earnhardt. "We’re adding customer service resources in order to provide even more technical support and faster turnaround."
