In Solar Photovoltaic Farms, fiber optics support alternative energy generation, helping maximize energy creation in a number of ways. OFS ­offers a variety of cables to manage and control power generation: outdoor cables for connections between solar panels and control devices used in optimizing solar tracking; indoor/outdoor low smoke zero halogen cables to span the critical link to the substation. Avago offers the Versatile Link® system for these applications, and Versatile Link is compatible with OFS’s V-System® for ease of installation using Crimp & Cleave V-Pin connectors and HCS® ­optical cables.

  • 200 µm Indoor HCS Optical Fiber Cable with V-Pin Connectors
    Rugged optical fiber, compatible with V-Pin connectors and Avago Versatile Link Transceivers for use inside control centers.
  • 200 µm Low Smoke Zero Halogen Riser Cable with ST Connectors
    For the indoor-outdoor connection between solar collectors and the control center, this cable/connector combination provides the protection and the bandwidth needed for high performance and long term reliability.
